Bed side story
Ever had the feeling that your bed tastes and smells seductively sweet? I always do, but only in the mornings. It bewilders me how my bed tastes and smells delicious when I wake up in the morning. It is undoubtedly a fresh, delicate kind of sweetness. It can be floral, fruity, spicy. There could be an added drop of parfum you wore to bed last night (be it Chanel No.5 or Issey Miyake). There could also be a touch of the orchids you bought for your lounge yesterday, the lavender oil you burnt a few days ago. There could even be a dollop of the the intimate fragrance of the person that slept beside you. Whatever it is, it is perfect. But it's subtle. You don't have to put your tongue out to taste it. You just have to keep your eyes closed. Keep your eyes closed and the aroma will come to you like a gentle breeze. It is in the air, it is above the bedsheets, it is on the pillow which you have moulded all night to wrap around and support your delicate head and neck. It is also in the thick, soft, fluffy duvet which you have warmed up all night. When you can taste the taste and smell the smell of your bed in the morning, you know it belongs to you. It's the best feeling to start your day. It would put a smile on your face, and as you do, you pull the duvet even closer to your nose, and stretch your toes.
It's sentimental, it's personal, it's subdued. It reminds you how lucky you are. Embrace it.

i 'll check that tomorrow morning. i agree the bed is sweetest in the morning but for me it unfortunately runs bitter from remorse (i suppose that's the realism you exorcised with your beautiful post and i spoiled it?!)
p.s. i like your blog i linked it to mine if you don't mind!
